Today, I am going to play an interview conducted at the ExhibitorLive Show in March 2015 held at Las Vegas with Marlys Arnold from Trade Show Insights.
Mike Gray (Host): What brings you to the trade show floor?
Marlys Arnold (Guest): Since I am a trade show marketing consultant and trainer, I like to come to trade shows to walk around to see what is new, what the trends are what is creative so that I can go back and share with my clients and my blog and pod cast.
Mike Gray (Host): Tell us a little about your company.
Marlys Arnold (Guest): Trade Show Insights is my blog/pod cast. I teach exhibitors and show organizers how to do a better job and market themselves and to think about the whole process of exhibiting.
Mike Gray (Host): Tell us about your book
Marlys Arnold (Guest): The book is called “Build a Better Trade Show Image”. I wrote this book having experience as both an exhibitor and trade show organizer, seen it from all sides and also as a consultant. I wrote this book and wish I had this when I was exhibiting. It teaches you about setting goals, choosing shows which will make the most sense to be exhibiting in and all the way what to do before, during and after the show because that is the piece that usually gets missed – the ROI. Companies often wonder why they are spending all this money and not getting any ROI, well it is because of all the follow up you are not doing. The leads are like hundred dollar bills that need to be nurtured to become actual clients.
Mike Gray (Host): Congratulations on the book. What is the one thing you would like to say to the trade show community?
Marlys Arnold (Guest): To look at your trade show marketing plan as a strategy and not as a checklist. It needs to all flow, everything needs to work together. It needs to be system.
